Summary: Fifteen-year-old Bridget Liu just wants to be left alone: by her mom, by the cute son of a local police sergeant, and by the eerie voices she can suddenly and inexplicably hear. Unfortunately for Bridget, it turns out the voices are demons – and Bridget has the rare ability to banish them back to whatever hell they came from.

Terrified to tell people about her new power, Bridget confides in a local priest who enlists her help in increasingly dangerous cases of demonic possession. But just as she is starting to come to terms with her new power, Bridget receives a startling message from one of the demons. Now Bridget must unlock the secret to the demons' plan before someone close to her winds up dead – or worse, the human vessel of a demon king.

Review: Possess is a great debut that has some absolutely amazing writing!

My one complainant about this book was Bridget's character in the beginning. I can't confess to liking her or hating her for the first quarter of the book. She was just there. I'm not quite sure why I had no feelings about her character, though. Thankfully, as the book went on I could relate to her more and she became a great, strong heroine.

Possess has one of the cutest romances ever! Bridget and Matt Quinn are, frankly, just plain adorable. Matt is the cute, jock guy that isn't a jerk but it so sweet and there's steel-toed boot wearing Bridget. Together, the two were just amazing. I think I could go on for a long time about how well written their romance was.

Speaking of the writing, I just loved it! McNeil has a great, hilarious writing style that always had me smiling. Some of the lines in the book almost had me laughing out loud!

The story line of Possess managed to surprise me, too. Possess is filled with scary banishment scenes and some awesome demon lore. It was so nice to have a fresh take on this aspect of the paranormal genre.

Overall, Possess is an exciting debut that has some great writing and terrifying scenes.

I've heard some good things about this book but didn't realize there was a cute romance factored in! Might have to check it out.

Possess sounds great! It's been out for a while, and on my wish list for much longer, I just don't know why I haven't gotten around to buying it yet. Anyway, great review! :)

Ask anyone who was affected by last year's Panda update or the more recent Penguin update from Google, and you'll quickly see that it's foolish to put all the income from your Internet marketing blog in one proverbial basket. It just requires the dedication to writing one blog post a day no matter what and keeping this routine up for months and years to come. If you want to create and run a blog to hold your business, the adopting business blogging tips will certainly help to make the task much simpler for you.
