Author: Rachel Hawkins aka one of the most awesomest authors ever!
Publisher: Hyperion Books
Publication Date: March 1, 2011
Summary: Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.
That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.
Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.
But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?
Review: Oh my goodness, where do I even start?
This book was, well, one of the most amazing books I have ever read. EVER. The Hex Hall series will be a long favorite of mine, I can feel it down in my bones.
Sophie was as amazing as ever. She was just so great, it is hard to even describe her. She, like the series, is a favorite of mine. I'm not sure how I feel about Sophie's Dad, I think he tries really hard and I like him for it. I get so sick of lousy parents in YA. And the slew of other supporting characters were great too. So fleshed out and amazing.
And Archer, well Archer gets his own paragraph! There are barely words to describe how I much I love Archer. He is perfect, in his own special way. It's not his fault that he...well never mind read the book for yourself and find out! He and Sophie are just so perfect. Archer=Swoon.
As for the plot I don't think I have ever seen a book with so many twists and turns as Demonglass! One minute I thought one thing, the next that idea was blown to smithereens and I had to try and formulate a new idea. I did not see any of this book coming. Nothing at all.
Just read it. You won't regret it.
