Summary: Can there truly be love after death?

Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.

Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.

Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss.

Review: Hereafter was amazing. I love ghost stories, I'm not sure how many time I'm going to say that, but I do. Reading Hereafter was so refreshing, the ideas and story was so original, I could jump around and throw confetti like a little girl.

I loved Amelia. I loved her, I loved the mystery around who she was and what she was, and I loved her romance with Joshua. She was easy to relate to and she had a great, distinct voice.

Joshua, is one of the sweetest, yet extremely hot boys that girls seem to go gaga over. I am one of those girls. He was so sweet to Amelia. I felt like their relationship really developed nicely, and I can't wait to see where it goes.

The writing in Hereafter was so indescribable. I want to say it was great, but great doesn't live up to Hudson's writing. You can say any author's writing it great, but hers was something more.

The actual plot was just as good as the characters and writing. It swept me up and before I even realized it, I had flown through the entire book.

A amazing, compelling debut by an author to watch out for!!
