Summary: What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?
Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Connor, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.
But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

Review: I'd been meaning to read Spellbound for a long, long time. I'm so happy to say that I did! Not only was I impressed by this book I loved the characters and a new look on a curse. Spellbound is a great read if you're looking for something a bit different in the paranormal world.

First of all, I really liked Emma. She wasn't the easiest to connect with at first but after I got to know her she grew on me very quick. I loved how inquisitive she was about her curse. Yes, Emma has a curse. Now what exactly that entails I won't tell you but I personally think it's super creative. Emma's sweet too and I loved her friend Angelique!

And Brendan? That boy is so adorable. He's just kind of fantastic. Emma and Brendan's relationship was full-out wonderful. It was almost too cute. The only thing I didn't like about it was that there was a bit of a case of insta-love. But this is one book where I understand it so it's alright.

Schultz also came up with some great new unique things. I loved learning more about the curse that was featured in this book. There's even little excerpts of from a "text" about the curse. This part of the book was just amazing.

Truthfully I'm kind of spellbound by Spellbound. I don't know if you can tell but I'm just a tad short of obsessing over this book. It's just fun, unique and has an adorable romance. I can't wait to read the next book!

This plot seriously reminds me of Fallen by Lauren Kate. The similarity is striking. Can't wait to read it and find out.

I still haven't read this one (is it on my Kindle? Hum.) but I've read a lot of good reviews for it. Might have to check it out.
