Waiting On Wednesday (29)

Hi, Waiting on Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine!

This week's pick is:
Darker Still by Leanna Renee Hieber
November 1, 2011

The Picture of Dorian Gray meets Pride and Prejudice, with a dash of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

New York City, 1882. Seventeen-year-old Natalie Stewart's latest obsession is a painting of the handsome British Lord Denbury. Something in his striking blue eyes calls to her. As his incredibly life-like gaze seems to follow her, Natalie gets the uneasy feeling that details of the painting keep changing...

Jonathan Denbury's soul is trapped in the gilded painting by dark magic while his possessed body commits unspeakable crimes in the city slums. He must lure Natalie into the painting, for only together can they reverse the curse and free his damaged soul.

Um...awesome sounding, right?!! It's historical and sounds like is has some magic in it! I couldn't ask for more. Plus, this guy in the painting sounds pretty darn hot!

P.S. Today's my birthday! I'm older now!! I'm not sure if that's a good thing....

I feel extra special that you've highlighted Darker Still on your birthday! Thanks! Happy Birthday! (And yes, I might be biased, but I think Lord Denbury is pretty hot too... here's how I envision him : http://bit.ly/p1NNvy ) :D Cheers!

Great choice, this book sounds like it has it all. I tried reading her Strangely Beautiful series and I had trouble getting into which Iwas majorly bummed because it just sounded so awesome... oh well.
