Always a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough

Title: Always a Witch
Author: Carolyn MacCullough
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Publication Date: August 1, 2011
Source: Thanks Netgally and Publisher!

Summary: The adventures of Tam and Gabriel continue with more time travel, Talents, spy work, and of course, the evil Knights.

Since the gripping conclusion of Once A Witch, Tamsin Greene has been haunted by her grandmother's prophecy that she will soon be forced to make a crucial decision—one so terrible that it could harm her family forever. When she discovers that her enemy, Alistair Knight, went back in time to Victorian-era New York in order to destroy her family, Tamsin is forced to follow him into the past. Stranded all alone in the nineteenth century, Tamsin soon finds herself disguised as a lady's maid in the terrifying mansion of the evil Knight family, avoiding the watchful eye of the vicious matron, La Spider, and fending off the advances of Liam Knight. As time runs out, both families square off in a thrilling display of magic. And to her horror, Tamsin finally understands the nature of her fateful choice.

Review: I read this back in December and was entralled. I'm sure that if I read it now I'd still be amazed.

In the sequel to Once a Witch, Tamsin is back to her strong awesome self and her adventures with the Knights and La Spider. I can't even begin to describe how much respect I have for Tamsin. She is so, so brave and a ton of fun. She knows how to do the right thing. If she was real then I'd definitely want to know her.

And there was time travel. I will always be a sucker for time travel. It is magical and MacCullough pulls it off nicely.

There was, in my opinion, some truly awful and evil characters. They just oozed creepiness and were complete villians. They were believable, which was the nice thing. Ah, what's a story without an well-written villian?

I was hooked the entire time as Tamsin tried to defeat the villians and save her family. Always a Witch was addicting and I loved every moment of it.

And speaking of love. I love Gabriel's and Tamsin's relationship. It is extremely cute and adorable.

Once Always a Witch was over I felt like it was a great conclusion, if not a touch sad. It was a great way for characters that I'd grown attached to to go out in style. I'd definitely recommend this series!

Tamsin was truly amazing in this novel. She was so brave and selfless that I wish I had an ounce of her courage.

Also her and Gabriel are too cute.
