What to Read (8)

Hi everyone!
What to Read is just a little thing I like to do that features a slew of books from a certain genre. Sometimes I don't exactly do genres, but you get the gist!

This week's topic is not a genre but rather a list of stuff...
2012 DEBUT AUTHOR BOOKS I'M DYING TO READ
Like I said, not really a topic since I haven't read any of these yet..but with singing up for the debut author challenge here, I though it'd be a great time to do this!
These are my top five picks for early 2012!
Why hello there pretty cover! This one looks original plus that cover....wow! I've seen some pretty good reviews on this one so, of course, I can't wait to read it!

This one has another beautiful cover. The idea of this one reminds me a lot of Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver in some ways. It looks amazing, though. I love it when people keep secrets...in books!
The idea of this one sounds so funny! I think it has something to do with Robin Hood type stuff. Really descriptive, I know! The main character steals from the popular people at her school and ends up maybe trusting one guy. I think the author has the opportunity to make this a really awesome book!
This one is a historical and a mystery and it's set in Venice! Could it get any cooler than that? No, I don't think so.
This one sounds absolutely heart-breaking. It's about car wrecks, abusive relationships and just a bunch of sad stuff. It sounds beautiful....

Desires of the Dead Release Day!

HI!

Today is the Desires of the Dead Release Day and Oh my Gosh I am so excited. My copy should be coming quite soon. I called Barnes and Noble and they are getting it signed for me! YAY! So I'm not sure how long it will take to get here, hopefully soon! But I guess I can wait a few more days!

You know over a year ago I would have never thought that I would ever read a book called Desires of the Dead, much less The Body Finder. Who knows where my brain was back then.

But as the day I get to read Desires of the Dead gets closer and closer...I get more and more nervous! Why? I LOVED The Body Finder and I KNOW that I will love this one too. But I'm anxious to see what happens with Violet and Jay, and Violet's ability. And I'm not at all worried I won't like it. But I'm worried about Violet and Jay! Which is really weird...but I'm still nervous!

If any of you guys have already read Desires of the Dead or The Body Finder, let me know!

Man, I love these books!

The Vespertine
The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell

The summer of 1889 is the one between childhood and womanhood for Amelia van den Broek—and thankfully, she’s not spending it at home in rural Maine. She’s been sent to Baltimore to stay with her stylish cousin, Zora, who will show her all the pleasures of city life and help her find a suitable man to marry.

With diversions ranging from archery in the park to dazzling balls and hints of forbidden romance, Victorian Baltimore is more exciting than Amelia imagined. But her gaiety is interrupted by disturbing, dreamlike visions she has only at sunset—visions that offer glimpses of the future. Soon, friends and strangers alike call on Amelia to hear her prophecies. Newly dubbed "Maine’s Own Mystic", Amelia is suddenly quite in demand.

However, her attraction to Nathaniel, an artist who is decidedly outside of Zora's circle, threatens the new life Amelia is building in Baltimore. This enigmatic young man is keeping secrets of his own—still, Amelia finds herself irrepressibly drawn to him. And while she has no trouble seeing the futures of others, she cannot predict whether Nathaniel will remain in hers.

When one of her darkest visions comes to pass, Amelia's world is thrown into chaos. And those around her begin to wonder if she’s not the seer of dark portents, but the cause.
