Summary: Tamani looked at her gravely, and reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear.

He hesitated for an instant, then his hands found the sides of her face, pulling her to him. He didn't kiss her, just held her face close to his, their foreheads resting together, their noses almost touching.

She hated how much it felt like good-bye.

Laurel now knows the truth: Yuki is a rare Winter faerie, the most powerful—and deadly—of all, and Klea plans to use her to help conquer and destroy Avalon. But Klea's reach extends far beyond one wild Winter faerie. With Tamani, David, and Chelsea by her side, Laurel prepares to face what may be Avalon's final days, in the stunning conclusion to the Wings series.

Review: Destined is a wonderful conclusion to the Wings series but it wasn't as engrossing or exciting as I expected it to be.

I just don't like the characters in this series. Laurel infuriates me with her lack of skills. Sure, she's an amazing Fall faerie but she couldn't defend herself to save her soul. The love interests are a bit better in this installment because they actually contribute to helping the plotline move. (Sorry, about my little rant there!)

Destined is just one huge battle that takes place maybe in one or two days. Those two days are filled with interesting developments and fighting which definitely redeemed the book.

The thing I liked most about Destined was the sense of conclusion that it gave me. It was truly a lovely ending that had me feeling a bit sad for the characters because not all the characters got their happy ending. I'm sad to see this series go but I definitely looking forward to seeing what Pike comes up with next.
