Death by Bikini

Hi!
Just in case you forgot, the Spooky reading Challenge started tomorrow!! I am so excited! And on October 14, Linda Gerber's new book Trance, which I just might do for a Spotlight Monday next week, is coming out and I am super excited for it! In honor of that, I decided that I would review all of her Death by . . . books! They are amazing, let me tell you that!

Title: Death by Bikini

Author: Linda Gerber

Rating: 5 stars

Review: Aphra Behn Connolly, lives on a tropical island, that would be paradise, if only her mom was there and if there were more kids her age. Aphra's mom, a government agent, mysteriously left Aphra and her dad a few years ago. Now Aphra is stuck on an island with no kids her age and is extremely bored. So when a family comes that has a son Aphra's age, you can imagine she is happy, but what she didn't expect was a murder on the same day. Now it is up to Aphra to figure out who she can trust and who she can't.
I fell in love with Death by Bikini at first sight, the summary sounded awesome and I thought the cover was extremely cool! And then when I started reading it, I fell in love again! You might be wondering why I love it so much, so I will tell you.

Aphra was a great funny character, who was incredibly fun to read about and listen to her thoughts. She has an excellent voice. I also really liked Aphra's friend Seth, who was just right for Aphra, he was extremely brave and wanted to keep Aphra safe when danger cam about. Which happened a ton.
I also enjoyed Gerber's style of writing, it was great and it made me want to keep reading.
The plot was great, I won't tell you much about it because I don't want to spoil it. All I can tell you is that a girl is found strangled, by her Bikini strings! Isn't that really a unique?! So take my word for it, because Death by Bikini was awesome.

Faithful

Hi! Just to remind you, The Spooky Reading Challenge starts in about 2 days, and I am pretty sure that I will not be done with Before I Fall so I will have to start my challenge late!

Title: Faithful

Author: Janet Fox

Rating: 5 stars
Review: When Maggie Bennett learns she is going to live in Yellowstone, she is horrified. She is being asked to leave everything behind, in the year if 1904, her friends, her social life and especially that, because this is the year Maggie is making her debut. So when Maggie's Father suggests they go to Yellowstone National Park for a job, Maggie is horrified. But when they arrive, Maggie is taken completely by surprise, she loves the scenery of the park, she might just make new friends and she meets Tom, the handsome son of a park geologist. But as Maggie gets deeper and deeper into the park, and into herself, she finds shocking facts about herself and her family.

I really did like, Faithful. I was a little hesitant when I read it back in May though to read it. Maggie sounded like a silly little girl who finally had to face real life. I was extremely surprised when I fell in love with it!
Maggie at the beginning was whiny but she under went great change during the novel.  I really, really liked Tom, in fact me and my friend started pretending he was quite real, I mean we were joking if course. He was extremely nice to Maggie and I think he was one if the driving forces in the way Maggie's character developed. I also really like Maggie's elderly lady friend and I think she was a very positive influence. I didn't like Maggie's servant/traveling companion, Kula I felt sorry for her but she was just plain mean sometimes.
The setting was great, and sometimes I felt like I was in Yellowstone myself, it possibly helped that I have already been there.

And now on to the story. It was great, at first it was a little boring but then the author totally stepped it up and it became extremely interesting. And I have to say that my favorite scene, was the one with the wagon, I though that was so actiony, alright I don't want to say it was full of action so we get the actiony, but if you haven't read it you won't know what I am even talking about!

I would definatly reccomend this book, espically if you are looking for a light read.

Magic Under Glass

Hi and Happy Tuesday!
I got comments the other day on my first In my Mailbox and it almost made me cry I was so stinking happy. I know that makes me sound like a big ole sap, but still it made me extremely happy, so if you were one of the people to comment on my post just know you made my day!

Title: Magic Under Glass
Author: Jaclyn Dolamore
Rating: 5 stars
Review: Nimira is a poor girl, that makes pennies for a living, working as a trouser girl in the mythical land of Lorianar. But when the oppertunity if a lifetime comes to Nimira she snatches it up right away. Hollin Parry, a famous socerer has asked Nim to come and sing with his automan. A creature who looks exactly like a man but is made of metal gears on the inside that help him play the piano. Nimira has heard many rumors about this particular automan, for it is said that he is haunted. But when Nimira discovers the secret of Hollin Parry and of the automan, she finds herself in a great lot of danger.
Magic Under Glass was a short, light read that was extremely enjoyable. I loved the idea of the story, a girl going and signing with an automan and then discovering some life threatening secrets. The story was full of twists and turns, while some were predictable some weren't. The story reminds me a little bit of the movie Jane Eyre. Because of the wife and the tower. But in this story the main character doesn't fall in live with her employer.
Nimira was a delightful character who I wholly enjoyed reading about. She had a good voice for the story. I especially like how she was so strong and could take care of herself.
Hollin was the type of character who I wasn't sure that I could trust or not. One of my favorite characters was Linza, the maid. She was really funny and I loved reading about her!
The mythical land that Nimira lived it was a great! When does the sequel come out?????!

As you can see. . .

I have just now posted my guidelines and rules for my book challenge! Isn't that exciting!? My very own book challenge, I feel as though I have just done something monumental in my life. OK, maybe not because if having a book challenge was monumental then that would be pretty lame. So all you have to do is go up, click on the link and WA LA you are entered!

If you aren't sure if you want to enter, well lets just say, that's OK but who wouldn't want to read a mystery, or a book about a werewolf?!

Below are some Halloweenish Pictures to have you all geared up for Halloween and my book challenge!

Ya well those are all my pictures that I took!!! Aren't they cool!?

More scary pictures!

Ok enough Halloween pictures!

In the next few days, I hope to accomplish a few things,
1. To get my list of books for the challenge published
2. To finish my reviews page, which isn't even started
3. To add a page of books released in the month, not even started
4. To actually take a break from my blog, which probably won't happen!

Oh well you said life was fair, anyway?!

Hey!

As you can see on the side of my blog I have a picture that says Spooks, werewolves and vamps. and so on. As you can see it is a little big and I am currently worked to edit that! So we will all have to deal with this for now and I will have more details coming later!!

Hush, Hush

HEY!
How is everyone doing? It's Friday! Which makes everything in the world so much cooler! I would like to remind you that I have a poll up about your favorite series. And did you see my countdown clock to Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick!? Isn't the noise it makes awesome!? As you can probably see from the top of my blog just under the title I have done some fancy stuff and I am working currently on a separate page that will hold all of the links to my reviews instead of you going and looking for a specific review on the side of my blog! Doesn't that sound cool!?

Title: Hush, Hush

Author: Becca Fitzpatrick

Rating: 5 stars

Review: When Nora Grey meets Patch she thinks she is going to die. And not in a good way. Patch is annoying, mean and bothers Nora a lot. And he follows her every where it seems. But at the same time she feels a great connection with him. Patch just happens to be super mysterious and Nora can't get any answers out of him and he seems to know just about everything about her. Nora knows there may be something off about Patch and his history, but she can't help trusting him. But when Nora finds herself in danger, she isn't sure who to trust anymore.

I LOVED Hush, Hush!!! It was super good. The only think I didn't quite get about the book was the title, but it did seem to fit even though I couldn't figure it out! Nora was a great character and I like that she at first tried to stay away from Patch but then she couldn't, even though it was against her better judgement. I loved how she didn't entirely rely on Patch, she did sometimes, but most of the time she tried to take care of herself and didn't need Patch's help, not too much anyway!
Vee, Nora's best friend was pretty funny, if not a dare devil who loved to go sleuthing. Which made her extremely likeable because what kind of girl doesn't want to go sleuthing!? Patch was Patch and at first I didn't trust him very much but as the book went on a I went to love him!
The story was amazing, I didn't think I would like the book at all and sort of thought the story pretty lame sounding but from the moment I first started the book, I was like WOW, this is great! I love it! The story had so many great twists and turns and I enjoyed every word of it.
I the angel part of the story and thought it was a great addition to the book, well I guess it wasn't an addition but that just sounds good! When the book ended I wished I had the sequel in my hands! My last words are few: Read it!

And I just added the Trailer because it is so awesome!

Eyes Like Stars

Hi!
How is everyone doing out there on this fine beautiful Thursday? Well everyone should be doing spectacular because well Friday is tomorrow. Now we can all do the happy dance! To bad this next book didn't make me do the happy dance!

Title: Eyes like Stars

Author: Lisa Mantchev
Rating: 5 stars

Review: Bertie Shakespeare Smith lives at the Theatre. Theater Illuminata to be exact. Where every play that was ever wrote has it's own special place in The Book. All the players live at the Theatre but Bertie is not a player. She is a normal, ordinary human girl who just lives there. When Bertie is threatened to be kicked out of the Theatre, she discovers more about herself and he friends than she could ever imagine.

First of all, don't you love the cover? I think it is absolutely beautiful!
Now I like the premise of the story but I didn't as much like the story. The characters were good but I thought the story was pretty boring. I do think that it had some good potential though. I mean every book does. As I got a little further into the book it got better but it needed some more excitement I think. So Overall and good premise with a plot that was lacking. But I do want to read the sequel though.

Spells

Hi!

Title: Spells

Author: Aprilynne Pike
Rating: 5 stars

Review: In the second Wings book, Laurel is headed to Avalon, the faerie world. There she will get instruction on how to fully embrace her powers as as a fall faerie. She is having no luck with all the potions she is supposed to be making. When Laurel goes back home to her boyfriend David she is having conflicted feelings and knows she will have to pick soon. That is picking between David and Tamani. But then the trolls come back.

Spells was just as good as Wings. I really like Avalon but I am not sure how I feel about how things work in the social system. Laurel does pick someone in the book but I am not at liberty to say who it is without ruining that part of the book. It is great!

Sorry didn't feel like writing so much in that one but it was still awesome and plus it is hard to write a review for a book that you love!

Wings

Hi!
Today is a Tuesday and I am super duper excited because today it is NCIS's Season Premiere!!!! I am super happy. There will be 3 awesome hours to watch and it will be awesome!

Title: Wings
Author: Aprilynne Pike
Rating: 5 stars
Review: Laurel has just moved to a new city and is adjusting to life as a highschooler from a homeschooling. Then just as everything starts to fall in to place, Laurel grows Wings out of her back. They aren't necessarily wings but flower petals coming out of her back. When visiting her old house she discovers a faerie who tells her that she too is a faerie. At first Laurel doesn't believe him but as she starts to except her fate, she learns there might be a greater trouble looming.

Sorry about that last sentence but it just seemed to fit. Wings was a great faerie story. I like they way the author interpreted faeries and I thought that the story was very unique. Especially the part which Laurel grows petals out if her back. I really like Laurel and thought she was pretty great. He two love interests, David and Tamani were great but I liked David much more. Great characters, good plot that leaves you wishing that all if the series was out!

Go NCIS!  This picture is a little updated because it has Jenny in it but still I love it and its Spanish!

Wicked Girls

Hi and Happy Sunday!
Be aware that there are some spoilers later in the post I warn you later in it but scroll at your own risk

Title: Wicked Girls: A Novel of the Salem Witch Trials
Author: Stephanie Hemphill
Rating: 3 stars

Review: Wicked Girls is a fictional accountant of 3 of the accusers during the Salem Witch Trials. Ann Putnam Jr. Is 12 and is the starter of all the madness of the Witch Trials. Mercy Lewis is a servant for Ann's Family and joins the group of the accusers just to stay safe and feel that she belongs. The last accuser's thoughts that are featured is Margret Walcott, who is Ann's cousin. Together with a couple of the other girls from Salem Village the girls start accusing person after person of witchcraft. But will it ever stop?
Wicked girls was in fact a very wicked story. All of the characters were terribly wicked (if you excuse my saying so). But if I had to pick a favorite character it would probably be Elizabeth and Mercy. To me they were the most likable of the characters. In fact, Elizabeth didn't even want to be apart of the trials. Mercy while bad, made me feel incredibly sorry for her. The novel was told in free verse which I actually started to like after a little while. One thing that sort of annoyed me though was how it kept switching between the main characters so fast. Now a little bit on the story. In this book the author gives what I guess she thinks happened at the horrific event of the Salem Witch Trials. If don't want to know what happens, don't read any further.

The girls pretend that they are afflicted and pretend that they see witches! And they even think that they are killing all the devils beings. I mean, come on! They are killing innocent people just because they have done something wrong in their life. And some haven't really done anything at all! Some of the girls though after awhile did start feeling bad and wanted to get out of it. But not ole little Ann Putnam Jr. she is a little devil. I mean I guess on the story they did it just for attention and to be paid actual attention to but still you think you could have found a way to do that differently. I really like the end of the book where the author actually tells you what happened to the girls and all the other characters! This review is coming a little too long so I will stop now!
Have a great day!

The Summoning

Hi!
Today has been an extremely cold rainy day where I live but never less I still wore shorts and I still plan on wearing them much in the future. I think I am just a summer girl at heart, I love summer and I love the pool. I have worn jeans only once since my school started and it was just for 3 hours and for a football game. Enough of my nonsense, here I go to review.

Title: The Summoning

Author: Kelley Armstrong
Rating: 5 stars

Review: Chloe Saunders is not like most teenage girls. She isn't developing as fast and she thinks she might even be seeing ghosts. After an incident at school, Chloe is sent to a special group home. At the group home Chloe finds out that most of the kids are like her, except they don't see ghosts. As Chloe begins to explore her powers with her new friends, she is threatened by the person you would never think of.

I loved this book! It is so cool that Chloe can see ghosts and I absolutely love ghost stories. I love the other kids at the group home, they are so unique. I really like the idea of the story too. My favorite part of the book was probably "The Summoning". It was just so creepy! I swear that sometimes this book gave me the chills! I guess I am pretty easily scared though. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series!
Have a fun day everyone!

The Fool's Girl

Hi!
I hope you all are having a marvelous Thursday today!

Title: The Fool's Girl

Author: Celia Rees
Rating: 3 stars

Review: In this mixture of Shakespeare's The Twelfth Night, and some of the author's own ideas we go on an adventure with Violetta and Feste. Violetta is the daughter of one the character from The Twelfth Night and Feste is the Fool or a kind of jester. When a Holy Relic is stolen from the country of Illyria, Feste and Violetta are determined to find it and return it to their chaotic country. And on a great journey they are tested and tricked by the most unusual characters.

While I like the premise for the story and the idea, I would have to say the the story was definitely not one of my favorites. As in most of Celia Rees' books  there is more descriptions of the setting than of the characters and how they develop. You think by this time you would think that I would have stopped reading her books, but I seem strangely addicted to then even if I really don't like them! The story was quite confusing and some parts and the descriptions interrupted the story. The characters were not developed and I was bored by most of them. Why am I even giving this book 3 stars? I have absolutely no idea, but I would only read this if you are really into historical fiction and really confusing stories.

Tomorrow: Possibly the The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong.

13 Little Blue Envelopes

Hi!
I still have a cold! Can you believe it! I also made a amazing discovery this weekend. You can set your posts to publish at a certain time! Isn't that exciting!? Well I think it is and it will definatly come in handy in the future! And in this review, I am a little rusty because I read this book sometime ago! So don't be too hard on me!

Title: 13 Little Blue Envelopes

Author: Maureen Johnson
Rating: 4 stars

Review: When Ginny gets a package in the mail from her Aunt, telling her to travel around the world on an adventure, she immediately decides to go. The only thing a little weird about this is that Ginny's Aunt died awhile ago. But never less Ginny decides to go travel around the world with all her things in one backpack and with no technology, thanks to the rules her Aunt gave her. And in the form of blue envelopes, Ginny goes on an adventure around the world. Ginny goes to the weirdest places, and meets some weird people too. But the biggest question is, why is her aunt doing this to her in the first place?

This was a nice, cute story with weird characters. Ginny was just a tad bit too trusting for me, I mean who willingly will go travel around the world for your dead Aunt that you hadn't seen in forever? Well Ginny does and she gets into quite a bit of trouble doing so. And where are her parents? Don't they care where she went? But Ginny was a pretty nice girl even if a little quirky. I like Keith, a guy Ginny meets, but he was like a total oddball. You might be wondering why I even gave this book 4 stars, but I like the premise of the story, going around and visiting all these foreign places. It could be fun! So to sum it up, we have a good plot with some weird characters.

Wondrous Strange

Hi!
Let's get straight to reviewing!

Title: Wondrous Strange

Author: Lesley Livingston
Rating: 5 stars

Review: Kelly Winslow, is a actress struggling to make her way in New York City. When Kelly takes a midnight stroll in Central Park she discovers Sonny Flannery, a Janus, which is a guard that guards the Gate to and from the Otherworld. And the Otherworld just happens to be the faerie world. At first Kelly thinks Sonny is just some lunatic that is stalking her so when Sonny tells Kelly what she is, she is more that surprised. Now Sonny has to help keep Kelly safe and prevent other terrible creatures from crossing over into the mortal world. But Kelly is wanted more than they know and it just might take some fighting to save Kelly's life.

Such an enchanting story! Kelly was very relatable to and I liked her a lot. Sonny, is Sonny and talks like he stepped right out of a Shakespearean Play! The plot was good, but not overly original. It seems that all faerie books these days are about faeries in the mortal world or mortals in the faerie world and such. Kelly and Sonny had a great connection that was entirely believable. Great read!

Spotlight Monday

HI!
I am actually posting this one time for like the first week ever. And Saturday was the one month anniversary of my blog! I was super excited! I am hoping that I can keep the reviews coming strong for at least another year. At first my goal was only 6 months but then I was thought, well I think you can do this a little bit longer than that! And I am pretty sure I can, I really don't want to be one of those bloggers who just up and quits because they just don't want to or just don't have the time to review books anymore. So hopefully next year on August 11, 2011, I will still be blogging! We can only hope.

Sea by Heidi R. Kling

Summary from Goodreads:

Haunted by recurring nightmares since her mother’s disappearance over the Indian ocean three years before, fifteen-year old California girl Sienna Jones reluctantly travels with her psychiatrist father’s volunteer team to six-months post-tsunami Indonesia where she meets the scarred and soulful orphaned boy, Deni, who is more like Sea than anyone she has ever met.
She knows they can’t be together, so why can’t she stay away from him? And what about her old best friend-turned-suddenly-hot Spider who may or may not be waiting for her back home? And why won’t her dad tell her the truth about her mother’s plane crash? The farther she gets from home, the closer she comes to finding answers.

Sounds wonderful! Sea has been out since June and while I have it, I have not got around to reading it yet!

Here is the Trailer! Which is so Beautiful!

Paranormalcy

Hi!
Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you're Monday is going great, even though it is the start of the week. Mine was semi-OK! Today I am reviewing a book that I love and I also wish 2011 was already here so I could read the sequel! I wonder if this blog will still be going next year?

Title: Paranormalcy

Author: Kiersten White
Rating: 5 stars

Review: Evie works for the IPCA, or  in other words, The International Paranormal Containment Agency. Evie not a paranormal but just a regular 16 year-old girl that has very special powers. Evie can see thorough paranormal's glamours which is why at the age of eight she was taken in by the IPCA. Evie has had a good life though, she is best friends with a mermaid, and her ex-boyfriend is a faerie. Not that, that is good, since faeries happen to be quite evil. But when a Shape shifter is caught breaking into the IPCA Center, the IPCA becomes aware of a new dangerous paranormal, that is threatening the lives of others.

Love, Love, Love!!! I could basically just say that and it would cover what I think of the book! But since I am nice, I will go into a some detail about why I love it, so! Well for one, Evie is awesome and the best character I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time. She had a great voice and I loved the way she told the story. Lend was so cool and I loved what he could do! He was so awesome, just like Evie. I also liked Lish, with all her bleeps! You will understand when you read the book! In fact that is what you should go do right now and not read the rest of the review! Well, why not? The plot was amazing and I loved all the kinds of different paranormals! I can't wait till 2011!

Incarceron

Hi!
Today I am finally reviewing, Incarceron! I have wanted to review this book forever! I am super happy that I am finally getting around to it too! I just finished Wondrous Strange yesterday and I loved it! I am currently reading Sabotaged by Margret Peterson Haddix, it is alright so far. Tomorrow I am going to hopefully post a review of Paranormalcy!

Title: Incarceron

Author: Catherine Fisher
Rating: 5 stars

Review: There is a world were time is frozen in a time much like the 1800's. No new technology can be developed but there is already tons of advanced technology. In this world there is also a prison, called Incarceron, that was sealed up hundreds of years ago, and no one has ever escaped, but one person. Finn lives and this prison and has always dreamed of someday escaping. One day Finn finds a a magical, Crystal key that allows him to talk with a girl on the outside, Claudia. At first Finn doesn't believe that she is really one the outside, but she is, hating her life in "The Era". When Claudia promises to help get Finn out of Incarceron, they have no idea of the challenges they will face.

This is a great book! But at first I was like, what is happening!? The world Claudia live in is totally strange and you have to keep in "Era" which basically means you live like you are in the 1800's with tons of technology. But I admit, I did start to like the world she lived in, even if it was a little weird. I mean, who doesn't want to live in the 1800's?  Finn also lived in a weird world. The characters were pretty good, but I would have like to see a little more action from Claudia. All she seemed to do was try and scheme. The plot though was excellent and very enjoyable. The whole book was incredibly fast paced and full of action. I can't wait till the sequel comes out in the US!

Prophecy of the Sisters

Hi!
Hope today is happy for you, well it is for me, no school! But then on Monday we all go back :-(!
I also think I am developing a cold and feel quite crummy! Fun, right? Let us get to reviewing!

Title: Prophecy of the Sisters

Author: Michelle Zink
Rating: 4 stars

Review: Prophecy of the Sisters is the first in a very mythological trilogy. (?) Sisters, Lia and Alice are twins that have always been different. So when Lia learns that they are on opposite sides of an ancient prophecy, she is not at all surprised. Lia learns to discover many things that she thought could never even be real, or had never imagined. But as Lia gets deeper and deeper into the prophecy she discovers many thing would rather be left alone.

Prophecy of the Sister was a book that I only started to like in the last half of the book, that's why it has 4 stars. I am don't sure why, but I just couldn't get into it and I couldn't connect with any of the characters very well. The writing was a great, I do have to say. It definitely sounded like the late 1800's. Lia grew more likable as the story went on, but at sometimes she seemed like all she could do was rely on her friends and others to do things for her. I sorta like the fantasy aspect of the story but it was quite confusing. But as the story went on it got better and better, so that is why I am deciding to read the second book!

Favorite book!

Hi Everyone!
I have a new fave book! Isn't that extremely exciting! But on the topic of not favorite book, we have Prophecy of the Sister, now don't get me wrong it's good, but is just a little to weird and mythical for me. I will possibly review it when I am finished!

Title: Beguiled

Authors: Deeanne Gist and J. Mark Bertrand
Rating: 5 stars

Review: In this amazing suspense novel we meet Rylee Monroe, a dog walker, who is in her early twenties. Rylee works in Charleston, South Carolina, where houses are starting to be robbed by a Robin Hood Burglar. But Rylee works at all these houses and she is being coming the prime suspect. Then Logan Woods, a reporter, comes into the picture and is determined to figure out the burglaries by himself. As Rylee and Logan start to work together, the thief gets closer and closer to hurting them.

I loved Beguiled! It has all the things you want in a book, it was suspense and mystery, great character and a great setting and even a little romance. I especially loved the setting of Charleston and now I really want to go there! Rylee was a great character but I sorta didn't like that dog walking was her main job and she didn't do anything else to support herself. Logan was amazing and a great guy. The mystery was great and I felt like I was there trying to solve it too. This book is a definite must read.

Have a Happy Wednesday! I also have another favorite book that I just finished, Paranormalcy! It was great!

Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund

Summary from Goodreads:

Even as unknown forces conspire to separate them, their competition turns to friendship, and their friendship to romance. Now not only their lives—but their hearts—are at stake. To survive, the two must unite all their knowledge, skills, and gifts to uncover a secret bigger than either could have imagined. A secret as big as the entire universe...

I have read this book and it is spectactular and it has been out since last year, but I thought I would let you know about because it is such a good book!

P.S. Don't you love my new look

Deadly Little Lies!

Hi!
Aren't you so glad that I am back! Yes you are super glad! Yay! Well today I am reviewing Deadly Little Secrets Sequel! Congrats Sophie Jordan on the release of Firelight! My copy is on my way from the bookstore!

Title: Deadly Little Lies

Author: Laurie Faria Stolarz
Rating: 4 stars

Review: In the second Touch Novel, Camelia is here again and missing Ben more than ever. When he left 4 months ago she thought she would be OK but now she realizes that, that was a lie. But when she meets Adam, a new guy working at the pottery studio, she thinks she is ready to move on. But then Ben comes back to school and makes everything way more complicated for Camelia. Especially now that she thinks that she was got Ben's psychometry and is dealing with the effects of that. Even worse yet, Camelia has a new stalker. And this time she isn't sure who is lying.

I am pretty sure that I liked this novel better than the first, but the first is still good though. I think that this one had more danger and mystery to it and it was extremely interesting. I was pretty captivated with the book and I have to admit that I really didn't want to stop reading it. But there were the parts that were a little boring and a little repetitive, making this a four star book. I thought that Camelia was a little stupid about Ben too. I mean he want hurting you the last time, so why would he be hurting you now!? Well I am not going to tell you what happens with that because at the end there is a huge surprise! A very well written book!

I might do a spotlight Monday! Except now it is Tuesday!

Princess of Glass

Hi Everyone!
Yes I will probably get Firelight by Sophie Jordan, when it comes out tomorrow! But since I am short on time I really need to get reviewing. Oh and I am not doing a spotlight today because, like I said I am super short on time. And Also I probably won't be on the blog for a couple of days, at least not until Friday!

Title: Princess of Glass

Author: Jessica Day George
Rating: 5 stars

Review: In the sequel to Princess of the Midnight ball, instead of another retelling of the 12 dancing princesses we have a very unique retelling of Cinderella. On a kingdom exchange program, Princess Poppy, one of Rose's sisters, is sent to a faraway kingdom to stay. While she is there Poppy meets, Ellen, a clumsy maid who is pretty rude. Ellen is mixed up it seems with an evil witch who wants to take her and use her. But weird things are going on and everyone is acting strangely. Now it is up to Poppy and her new found friends to help solve the mystery of Ellen and the evil witch! But will she solve it in time?

Princess of Glass was even better than the first. This was a Cinderella retelling but in a very unique, awesome way. Poppy was quite funny, and I loved her determination and her guts! OK that sounds odd. I really like that she actually was willing to do something. Ellen was extremely rude but I found myself feeling pity for her after awhile. The plot was extremely good and the mysteries were excellent! This is a great fantasy read!

Princesses and Evil!

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are having a fantastic Sunday! I have had a great one so far! I am going to review the princess books! Yay!

Title: Princess of the Midnight Ball

Author: Jessica Day George
Rating: 5 stars

Review: In this clever retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses we are swept up my mysteries and fantasy. Galen, a soldier returning from war, is going to the royal city to see if he can find work. When Galen finds work as a Gardener in the royal palace, he meets Rose, one of the princesses. Rose and her sisters have a deep, dark secret. Everyone who has every tried to figure out there secret has been killed or isn't able to. When Galen finds out about the mystery he immediately wants to help Rose and her twelve sisters. But will he and the sisters survive?

The Princess of the Midnight Ball is a great fantasy story. I usually don't like retelling of stories but this one was a great exception (and so is its sequel). Rose was really sweet and I felt for her. Who would want to dance, almost to death every single night? Galen was brave and super nice and who doesn't like a guy who knits!? The romance was sweet, but it was lacking a little. This was a great book, though!

Good Book! Well tomorrow I will review it's sequel, you shouldn't have to worry about it getting published, I am writing it right after I post this! Have a good evening!

Evermore

Hi!
How is everyone doing!? Well I am doing fine since this just happens to be a Saturday!!!! But now it's reviewing time!

Title: Evermore

Author: Alyson Noel
Rating: 3 stars

Review: 16 year-old Ever Bloom is now living with her aunt because of a fatal crash that killed her whole family. Since the crash Ever can see people's auras, hear what they are thinking and she has constant chatter in her head. But when Damen Auguste comes to town, Dames just happens to be gorgeous and mysterious, he can calm Ever and make her feel just a little bit normal again. The only thing is, Ever isn't sure about Damen- where he came from and what he is.

Evermore was a nice little read that I finished last weekend and while I found it enjoyable and I liked it, it seemed like there was way to many stories combined in it. Wait was it Twilight or was it Fallen, well most of the concepts seemed the same except Ever was just a little bit smarter than Bella or Luce. The plot, even though overused was sorta good. I like the concept of the book but it could have used a little more. I am still debating wether I want to read the 2nd book in the series and I am afraid that I will give in and do so. Well it was sorta good. . .

It is still a surpise, what I am I going to review tomorrow!

What Happened?

Hi!
So yesterday I published by review for Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins and it is at the bottom of the page instead of at the top, so if you want to read it you will have to go look for it!

Today: Evermore by Alyson Noel

I am currently reading Beguiled by Deeanne Gist and J. Mark Bertrand! It is super good and I love it, after I finished reading that I am going to read Prophecy of the Sister by Michelle Zink!

Sorry but Spotlight Monday is out late!

Hi!
Here is Spotlight Monday since, well I didn't have time!

I Was Jane Austen's Best Friend

Summary from Goodreads:
When shy Jenny Cooper goes to stay with her cousin Jane Austen, she knows nothing of the world of beautiful dresses, dances, secrets, gossip, and romance that Jane inhabits. At fifteen, Jane is already a sharp observer of the customs of courtship. So when Jenny falls utterly in love with Captain Thomas Williams, who better than Jane to help her win the heart of this dashing man?
But is that even possible? After all, Jenny’s been harboring a most desperate secret. Should it become known, it would bring scandal not only to her, but also to the wonderful Austen family. What’s a poor orphan girl to do?
In this delicious dance between truth and fiction, Cora Harrison has crafted Jenny’s secret diary by reading everything Jane Austen wrote as a child and an adult, and by researching biographies, critical studies, and family letters. Jenny’s diary makes the past spring vividly to life and provides insight into the entire Austen family—especially the beloved Jane.

Looks good, especially since I am a sucker for Historical Fiction Romances! Coming out on September 28!

On September 7 Firelight is coming out!

The Hunger Games!

Hello!

Today we I am reviewing one of my few favorite books! It is absouletely amazing! Lets get to it now! I am writing my own summaries again!

Title: The Hunger Games

Author: Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 stars

Review: Enter into the world of Panem, where each year 2 citizens from each of the 12 districts fight to death in The Hunger Games. When Katniss Everdeen's little sister, Prim, is picked to participate in The Hunger Games, Katniss immediately volunteers and decides to go in her place. The other tribute from the district is Peeta Mellark. When Katniss and Peeta get to the Games, they form a dangerous plan that could kill them or that could save them.

I loved the Hunger Games! It was one of the best books I have ever read. I was angered by the idea that people would make kids fight to the death but at the same time I was compelled by the idea. Katniss was amazing and I loved her, though I didn't particularly like some of the decisions she made. I loved reading about her experience in the arena and it was so cool! Peeta was so amazing and I thought he was so good. I just wish Katniss could make up her mind! Just a couple words more: Read The Hunger Games!!!

Please Excuse any spelling errors, spell check wasn't working!

I recieved Intrinsical yesterday! It is amazing so far!

Gone

HI and Happy Wednesday!

First off I would like to congratulate Alexandra Adornetto for the release of Halo and I would also like to congratulate Kiersten White on the release of Paranormalcy!! I am still doing summaries from Goodreads but only because I feel like it and this will probably be the last time I do this!

Title: Gone

Author: Lisa McMann
Rating: 3 stars

Summary from Goodreads: Janie thought she knew what her future held. And she thought she’d made her peace with it. But she can’t handle dragging Cabel down with her.

She knows he will stay with her, despite what she sees in his dreams. He’s amazing. And she’s a train wreck. Janie sees only one way to give him the life he deserves: She has to disappear. And it’s going to kill them both.
Then a stranger enters her life — and everything unravels. The future Janie once faced now has an ominous twist, and her choices are more dire than she’d ever thought possible. She alone must decide between the lesser of two evils. And time is running out....

My Review: Gone was a great conclusion to Lisa McMann's Wake trilogy. I really like how it wrapped things out and I was very satisfied with how things ended. Complainants are the same as last. Some of the things in the book I don't think were very appropriate. Overall a good book with a good plot!

Tomorrow: The Review for the Hunger Games! Finally!
